CHARLOTTE — The Charlotte Hornets announced today the hiring of Marvin Hodges as the organization’s new Chief Financial Officer (CFO), effective immediately. Hodges brings over two decades of financial leadership experience across the sports and entertainment industries.

In his new role, Hodges will oversee the Hornets’ financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial planning. His appointment comes at a pivotal time as the franchise continues its comprehensive rebuild under General Manager Jeff Peterson and Head Coach Charles Lee.

“We are thrilled to welcome Marvin to the Hornets family,” said team president Fred Whitfield. “His extensive experience and strategic insight will be invaluable as we navigate the financial complexities of building a competitive team.”

Prior to joining the Hornets, Hodges served as CFO for several major sports organizations, where he was instrumental in driving financial growth and operational efficiency. His expertise in financial management is expected to play a crucial role in the Hornets’ long-term success.

“I’m excited to join the Hornets organization and contribute to its vision for the future,” said Hodges. “I look forward to working with the team to ensure financial stability and support the franchise’s goals on and off the court.”

Hodges’ appointment is part of the Hornets’ broader strategy to strengthen their executive leadership as they aim to build a sustainable and successful basketball program.
